Kissed by the passing breeze of awakenng Contest ~ Sponsor: John Lawless

It was the moment sepia bloomed into color. I felt it in my fingertips as a tingling sensation, like the warmth of the sun when it touched my skin and allowed a gentle breeze to awaken within me something that had caught me completely unaware. There was a melody drifting on the wind. I shared its lyrics with my heart but no one else, afraid I'd misread what I'd seen in his eyes, and unsure that somehow, I had misconstrued what the gentle zephyr was conveying to me. There were butterflies waltzing inside of me, dancing with intense yearning that I wanted to explore. It filled my mind and body until I could hardly breathe. At sixteen, I was ready to walk across that threshold between adolescence and what was on the other side. A smile brushed my lips each time I said his name.

Trembling with light, soft and stirring, erasing all the dark that falls on the night, portraying a joy far reaching, ever assuring, a beauty beyond hopeful... a gem for sure, Congrats my friend, Love, Gina

Lin, back with congratulations on your win with this sublime, and tender, love song. Your "dancing butterflies," "sepia" blooming, are just two of your amazing images! Young love so wonderfully expressed - "ready to walk across that threshold." Wonderful expression! What a wonderful joy to share the podium with you! Blessings to you!

Oh Sam, forgive me for not responding to your wonderfully supportive comments on this poem. I saw it had received a comment and found your comment along with John’s. Now I see that he has awarded both of us first place wins in his contest. Sooo nice for both of us! Thanks very much.

A delicate yet ardent interpretation of readiness to explore one’s adolescent desires, brilliantly worded Lin, you capture the moment as if happened only yesterday, great one for the contest, cheers David

It seems like yesterday, David, but not as an adolescent. How many such moments of new love can we have? I’ll not put a limit on such beautiful beginnings. I’m glad you’re back. Cheers!

Was he a starter for ten, or the beginning of the end?

Lin, a beautiful poem, capturing that illusive feeling of transition, tipping on a moment, infused with the wellings of youth...very skillfully put together but above all, charged with life ! O youth, how wonderful, how passion torn, how longed for....

Lin, a wonderfully penned romantic poem, a turning point in life when crossing that romantic threshold, a mixture of innocence and lust that feels like love.
