Notes About The Poem

A Mask of Sweetness

It was not enough that you hurt my soul,
     Your unfeelingness broke my heart;
Words like a thousand swords leave me broken.
           You hide behind a mask of sweetness.

                                   Your true "self" I can now see.

very powerful write indeed, my friend. Boy, I have so much catching up to do - forgive my reading some of your poems at random. I know you're snowed under - no worries at all if you don't leave a comment for me. Love to you & the kitties x
