Arlene Smith Poet Free verse

A Lovers Voyage

Sail away with me on a lovers voyage.
Let the wind's soft caress carry us gently out to sea.
Free of inhibition; cloaked in midnight satin;
each breathtaking star holds us captive.
Moonlight's spell drawing us deeper still;
feeling the rise and fall of ocean swells.
Covered in misty wet kisses, breaching vessels bow;
a hypnotic rhythm, taps softly on the keel.
Wind gusts hints of welcomed storms.
Tossed by gale through uncharted waters
as we crest the surging waves, one after another.

Adrift, as day breaks in sun's warm glow
Anchored only to each other....
A lovers voyage.
