A Lover's Eyes
A LOVER’S EYES
The biting blue of ice bergs
Breaking knives into the sea--
The thousand shades of green
adrift in the shadows of lashes--
Brown, stark as winter bark
Nudged beside the snow--
Passion-black
Ship in silhouette
Returning from the wars.
Each lover’s eye a Splendor.
Magnified
Mutability--
Eyes flicker hot to cold
Faster than a chemist's burner.
Provocative by timelessness,
Eyes can haunt forever with
the memory they enslave--
Fortune, infamous for cruelty,
Is kind in this respect--
Time cannot diminish
The magnificence
Of
Eyes
