A Love That's Meant To Be

Seagulls sit on rusting capstans
For the fleet to leave to sea,
Waiting for the missing helmsman
If it was meant to be.

Sounds of summer out of reach,
From anglers by the sea
No more pebbles on the beach
If it was meant to be.

For love is just a numbers game
Where life is a tax we levy
Until with hope we set aflame
As it is meant to be.
