A Love Song
Somewhere, amidst a silenced wrong
in the back recesses of my mind
the words are dancing in unheard melodic song
lost in the sadness of missing time.
Had it made a difference or left a mark
even just a moment to draw you near
the music plays a yearning soulful lark
drawing in your listening ear.
A love song would solidify the message
that hearts are bound together
in feeling and emotion grown progressive
swept along the scented sweet heather.
Stand still and quiet at the threshold
wait for the wind to glide upon the sea
and in a heartbeat serene and bold
see me and all the love meant for thee.
