A Love Poem
I love you as if you were diamond or pearl, or the blush of my cheeks. I love you with solidity and whimsy and with my trembling lips. Your light may shine dimly, but bright between my heart and soul, wilted roses come to life. I love you in ways that even my words can't describe. I love you with the salt of the tears that fall from my heart-shaped eyes. You are God's epiphany, a sign, a message to me from the power of the universe. When eyes meet its a fire and it burns, the rises a phoenix from the ashes. You are my phoenix come to fly me to the heavens I feel I'm in when I'm with you. You are my tether, holding me to the ground. If not in your grip, I would simply fly up and join Icarus in the sun. I love you with everything, I need your everything, and for you I would do everything.
