A Love On Loan From My Own Blood

A muse
came to me,
naked, yet I

took it
to my aged heart and
warmed it by

my breath
then clothed it
with love,

a love
on loan from
my own

blood. Oh muse,
go, go now and sail
the many islands—

spread thy
beauty, so perfect for
the god of the sea!
