Notes About The Poem

A Love Heart Inside a Love Heart

A black love heart, within her love heart,
Reveals thoughts kept hidden inside,
Highlighting her scars, those small hidden scars,
Buried deep within her mind,

Deep behind her beautiful smile,
Behind her face with a rose,
Behind her jigsaw of beautiful moments,
Hiding the things now exposed,

And I belong to her when she looks through my eyes,
And reveals the journey she’s trod,
Because we’ve both walked the torment she has lived,
The love in her heart that’s been robbed,

So together we paint our faces with blue,
And walk off into the unknown,
And show the world both our hearts within hearts,
Holding hands, together, alone.

A well expressed poem of hidden scars buried deep within. We all wear masks at some time or other, i particularly like your last four lines of your quatrain Lewis....Maria
