A Look On the Bright Side.
The rain taps on the window, the sky is dead and grey,
I explain to my children that we can't go out today,
No walking to the local shop to buy the boring food
the co-op where it's overpriced and all the staff are rude,
The t.v's on a children's show and out the music blares,
we have this on so often that we should have bought some shares
I change the childrens nappies and then I get them dressed
the youngest is quite willing though the eldest not impressed
the fire burns in the fireplace and the lamp lights up the room
a bright and cheery setting like a beacon in the gloom
I look around at my kids, playing and squealing with glee
and despite all the rain of the miserable day, there's no place I'd rather be!!
