A Long Road

At long last, our roads crossed, what we have been awaiting Now is the time, we find out the real truth behind this reality This road has been rough, tested with many times of hating Through it all, it has shown to only test our strong vitality You could not talk to me for awhile, the pain was too great I could not speak to you, hurt I felt when you were not mine Bumps in our road left us with a path tainted, not so straight For so long I waited for ways to open myself, for a clear sign Now you are before me, as beautiful as I could ever dream This is where we find out the worth of all our growing years Your smile warms me inside, guiding eyes of a bright gleam I can hold you now, and protect you from such dreadful fears I want to give you what you want, to be happy and content One step at a time, a pace that we need to have, for our sake Close the book, or write another chapter, what will be meant Our questions will be answered, whether we are real or fake We came together long ago, and could never part far away Now we are only inches apart, finally in each other’s sight As best friends, or as something more, we will find our way But never forget, in my heart, you will always be my starlight
