A Lonely Silver Ribbon
A lonely silver ribbon
Caught my eye today
A remnant of a shopper’s rush
Left on the shelf to say
I can sparkle, take me home
My Christmas plans are few
And I would relish nothing more
Than wrapping gifts for you
So as it spoke in ribbon speak
Calling out my name
I thought of how I’d once felt
Not chosen for a game
I bought that silver ribbon
And took it home with me
And now it sits so sparkling bright
Underneath my tree
If people were like ribbon
Perhaps, we’d keep in mind
That Christmas can be lonely
When you’re left behind
