A Lonely Hymn At Night

Time, a pathway to the final end
Death, a pathway to a new beginning
Time and death are subtle allies
One to reveal, the other — a fulfilment

A sad one ponders alone under the night sky
Wondering at the beautiful tempest of life
Sick, secluded and submissive to the raining flows
His shimmering tears' lost in his vast but empty sighs

Now do the birds weep their supportive cries
The sorry breeze whooshes calm to his grieving spirit
The trees sway lightly to the band of night's wind
For so it is, the top one sings to nature, his strives

Man and nature thus resonated a hymn at night
An ode to the weak strength of man
Man and nature did chorus a hymn at night
A praise of man's perseverance against all odds
