A Lone Cold Star

there came from afar
a lone cold star
hurling through the darkness of space

of no volition of its own
it was happy to roam
never knowing what destiny awaits

on a day unlike any other
it wandered upon another
little did it know that this was fate

space is lonely without one to share
then from the black someone is there
but you oft' wonder why it came so late
