A Little Rain

I awoke to the rumble
up in the sky,
one dark and dreary night -
by and by.
My heart was pounding
with every loud clap,
as I sat up in bed
with my hands in my lap.
I asked, "How many times
does the thunder
wake and shake
frightened people asunder?"
I thought to myself,
"It's no more than Nature's call"
because even for the Earth...
some rain must fall!

Stopping by to say hello and let you I enjoyed reading your poetry today George. I am in the process of packing up to move in a couple weeks so not much time for one on one. I will be stopping by when I can. Have a wonderful weekend and keep your pen flowing. Love and blessings, Carol

Good simple wording that is easy to read and understand. You also have good rhyming here.
