A Little Light
Swallowed up in a sea of traffic lights
I shut my eyes a moment, heart and thoughts
entwined, Lord shine a little light
Like a film roll my thoughts swirl around
Looking up I gaze and come to a stop
Red Yellow and Green.
A small town girl happy and free
Little town lights do you remember me?
I always loved you or so pure and true
I come once again little light
please help me I’m feeling blue.
The lights are the silent tears rolling down my cheeks
The lights are the kisses that I feel
on my skin a cool breeze
The lights are my family and friends I miss them so
The lights were always on if only I looked into my core.
Little light take away my dread and give me hope
Light my way and help me cope
Pour your light into the cracks of my soul
I can see a glow with a small flicker
I know you well, let me rest in your wicker.
