A little life lost

You grew inside my womb so free, A tiny heartbeat, a life to be. But now you're gone, and I'm in pain, A hurt that will never go away. You died in my stomach, before you could breathe, A life unlived, a future unseen. I'll always wonder what you would be, A little one, lost, and now set free. I'll hold you close, in my heart and mind, And cherish the memories, though we were not aligned. You may not have lived, but you'll never be forgotten, My little one, I love you, and my heart is broken.
