A Little Less Sad

I’ll put up with the rain,
I’ll let it soak to my bones,
And I’ll put up with the pain,
Until I feel a little less alone.
I’ll cry these tears,
Until they run down my face,
And I’ll face my biggest fears,
Until they find their place.
The storm I’m in is frightening,
But until then,
I’ll roll with it the way thunder rolls with lightning,
Until the sun shines again.
I’m not yet whole,
But I’ll make the most of being half,
I’ll spend time with my favorite people,
Until I am able to laugh.
I know I’m about to lose things,
But I’ll be grateful for what I’ve had,
I’ll grow back these angel wings,
Until I’m a little less sad.
