A Little Bit of Whiskey

You need a little bit of whisky
To forget about a girl.

And a little bit of champagne
For a lie to tell.

You need a little bit of wine
To catch a wedding dance.

And a little bit of beer
To give a crowd a glance.

You need a sip of juice
To finish your novel.

And a little energade
To use a pick and a shovel.

You need a little bit of tea
To write a wedding song,

And a little bit of coffee
For studying all night long.

But as for the whisky and the girl,
It has happened before...
You'll surely need an "I'm sorry God" prayer
For drinking more and more.
