A Little Below the Angels

You were there
In the light of an August moon
Sitting in a field of the night’s blossoms
The air around you glowed
An aura of love, peace and hope
Distant stars shimmer in your eyes
There is something about you
Something ethereal
Although you are sentenced to a life on Earth
You do not belong here
There is a magic around you
That even you cannot see
Although you may not be perfect
Your soul is unique among mortals
Above all those around you
You belong just a little below the angels

Wow, Robert! What a treasure you have here. This poem is the reason I enjoy Poetry Soup. Sometimes a true gem emerges. What a special person this must be for you to see her/him as "just a little below the angels." Captivating poem! Love, Carolyn
