A Lighthouse in a Storm

Last night, the crashing waves and howling wind.
  I trembled, prayed, and truly thought we'd die. 
 With shattered glass, our tower seemed to jump.
This morning, nothing but a seagull's cry...

Oh my! Very emotive in just a few lines! Can sense last night’s fret. Then the fear mixed with hope and yet… third line with specific action (reminds me of the Venezuelan earthquake) and that sad last line. So well done, Jack!
