A Lifes Battle

Today this old man told a story to me
Of this frightened young boy, he once used to be
Abused by his parents, ignored by his peers
A little boys dreams became nightmares and fears

His childhood was ruined before it begun
You can't live a life when that lives been undone
He struggled through years of self loathing and hate
Always reminded, he was his parents mistake

Bullied through school, tormented at home
Friends he had none, he had felt all alone
He survived through his teens, such a terrible time
Though ended up being involved in a crime

The memories of this, still haunts him today
But the past is the past, it's back in the day
The present is now, the future's untold
Gracefully now he'll begin to grow old

Spending what time he has left in this life
With a woman he loves, who now is his wife
This child that was broken is now a strong man
He fought for his life and now I'm a fan
