A Life of Meaning

The Carolina crescent moon
Hung low in the evening sky
The air was crisp but still
Autumn colors hung upon the trees
And I drank it in like the lake swallows a loon

Peaceful grandeur enveloped the moment
Alas a moment is just a moment
Collecting moments the very thing
That make a life of meaning
