Each line of the poem is a juxtaposition of the Lord Jesus Christ's life on this earth as the Son of man and His Sovereignty as the Son of God.

The Creator became the creation He chose a virgin womb to be born It's something beyond our imagination How the Emmanuel became a child forlorn The Divine Architect was born in a manger, The Beginning and the End, His life was brief With no place to lay His head, like a stranger The Saviour of the world was hung like a thief The Bread of Life once was hungry for a meal The Righteous Lord was unjustly tried The Light of the world's last hours were a dark deal The Truth, accused by witnesses who lied The High Priest became the sacrificial Lamb Wounded to heal us, His life was taken, Blamed to pardon us, He remained dumb The Son of God, by His Father forsaken, The Lion of Judah and Lamb of God is He The Door, He was sealed inside the cave The Resurrection and the Life, died for you and me The Chief Cornerstone was buried in the grave The True Vine gave Himself for His branches The Good Shepherd died to show us the Way The Author and Finisher of our faith is Jesus He vanquished death and is alive today. ---------------------------- 25.9.16
