A Life Changing Moment

One early morning in July,
a child was born and with one cry,
                my future changed.
My life had a new purpose and meaning,
I could hardly contain the joy I was feeling,
                 life rearranged.

From the moment I gazed on her dear face,
and held her in gentle embrace,
                 she captured my heart.
Overwhelmed with gratitude and love,
for my granddaughter, a gift from above,
                 love's work of art.

My life hasn't been the same,
since the day my angel came,
                 I love her so.
I'm a grandma now and I find it's true,
that there's nothing that I would rather do,
                than watch her grow.

Kim: I could feel the emotions as you felt them that day. We have 10 grands now. Most nearly grown. I'm not sure we're up to "greats" but I know grandma's ready to try. I'll just write a rhyme about my "greats" experience then. :o) Thanks for sharing those wonderful feelings with all of us on the soup. Keep them coming. oldbuck

Thank you, Old Buck! She's our first "blood" grandchild, but we have 3 older ones who are her half-siblings. Love them all!

Thank you, Daniel! My granddaughter was born 3 and a half years ago and I'm still smitten and always will be.
