A Letter To My Father

Dear dad I’m not sure Should I look for you? I’m afraid I’ll be the only one looking Are you also looking? For a lost son I don’t know why But I am now sure It will be a lost cause Because I’m a father now It is funny I still think of where I come from I just want to see what you look like So, that I could maybe stare you down And know it for myself if the apple is falling Far from the tree or not Crazy as it sounds It will be so profound So many questions Too many years Was it too many addresses to keep with? Or did you give up on me? Was I not what you expected? Well we can’t be perfected Look my life you have affected with your absence Couldn’t you be man enough And stick around like a man Am I the product of your failure I need to know I need to see you Where I come from hangs in the balance So come out of your absence…

A 7 for the reality of this, the truth. "Am I the product of your failure" - man, I am home alone right now so nobody can see me all choked-up. That is one great line, Matt. To answer that question - I think that sometimes we can say yes, but it's never as simple as that. How do we know it would be better some other way? We come from any number of failures and successes. But yes - we want to know.

- A moving and great poem with your feelings, Phatt - Be a good father - Can remind me a little of my own poem: "- Dear Dad - I posted it a while back: 05/01/2015" .... not often that I writes poems from reality ... but this is :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)
