Other End of the Street

The Wall
Berlinish
Walls
Apart
We suffer
Brothers
Easy to hate what you can not see
So instead we all suffer in misery
Worlds apart
In the same village
Modern wars, are fought on TV
Confusing the haters, maybe you and me
Do not be fooled
I will teach you how to kill
All of your enemies
Not one rocket fired
Simple
Very simple
Love your children
More than hating any enemy

This is the feast of peace
The dessert?
Invite the enemy
Into your home
He shall lie dead before you
Slayed, not with a knife
With your kindness
For kindness has no foe
Kindness builds friendships
Friendships build love
Love kills all enemies
The icing on the cake!

Notes: The last line is Swedish for "Would you like dessert"

Your write sings so well but the ones that need to get its message reject that message before hearing it. A lesson taught and reinforced by the hatred they worship my friend. Harry Horsman August 4, 2014 at 10:51 AM every person today as a right to live in peace and harmony, within their own culture and religion, and yes within a country they can call home, yet has history proves,,,there is always someone wants to stuff it up,, power and wealth the two factors....these folk are on everyone side theirs and ours,,some more subtle than others...your poetry brings to the fore this,,,keep it up Arthur,,,the pen is mightier than....... Power and wealth for sure, these always play a role, but nothing is more dangerous than extremism itself, hate is fuel for the fire, and we musty never stop trying to extinguish the flames.

The voice of peace-loving people is not strong enough to stop the rot.
