A Letter To God

Each day I add a line to my letter Lord
I’m sorry that there are more requests than thanks

You have been with me before I was
You have moulded me into your vessel

I carry with me a divine message
Signed and sealed by you

When called to arms I will stand among other messengers
Ready for your command, Ready to die

But for now I walk with the shadows
Silhouetted by your angels

At night huddled together we sit and speak to you
And through visions and life changing encounters
We understand your answers

Sometimes in the innocence of children
Within their untarnished thoughts and prayers
Lies the strength of God

Even whispers sometimes drown out the screams.
