A Lengthy Obsession
I tried to think and nothing happened, then
I tried to work and swiveled in my chair.
All I had known died as I recall when
My world became blue eyes and golden hair.
Sunrise became drab when matched with her eyes -
Her hair evoked the sounds of heaven's call.
There was a day when mankind called me wise,
But that was lost without a care at all.
"Obsessed!" they said, and I could only smile.
My life had turned and left the sane behind.
The world of love possessed me all the while -
Leaving me daft and with a simple mind.
Don't grieve for me for I found something rare -
I vanished in blue eyes and golden hair.
