A Leave of Absence
Don't look for her
At the break of day
No need to call either
She has gone away.
She left behind
A path of tears
She took a drive
To a place of peace.
Don't knock on her door
And call her name
No need to implore
She knows your games.
It is way too late
She'll be gone for a while
She has turned the page
Your regrets are futile.
Don't wait for her
Don't hope for her return
No need to bother
She believes not your words.
She will not leave a trace
for you to follow
To wait here is a waste
Better for you to let go.
Don't look for her
At the break of day
No need to call either
She has gone away.
