A Last Line Prompt
Rendezvous
Shopping in the arcade their eyes met
For long they magnetically froze
White silver haired with bags in hand
They slowly moved forward with guarded steps
Their hands became weak as their bags slipped
Hugging and crying over the years gone by
Remembering their silent love decades ago
Of their escape from the concentration camp
And how war played foul and changed their lives
They were to meet at the cafe in the twilight hour
But their rendezvous was burnt down and area guarded
They went their different ways to save their families
Instead of drinking coffee in the cafés of Berlin
