My arms no longer carry me, And wheels replaced my legs. In faraway memories a child still lives, that as a grey rodent encircles me. In obscure dreams he emerges: Occasionally plays the violin with hesitant, timid strokes, faltering, wavering courage. And from the corners of my eyes, I see him dance in budding spring sunlight, that sets his ringlets aflame while he pirouettes past. My mouth found speech again In shy attempts with special friends But in the loudness of their words this soft sound breaks down This baffling world of communication fails my ears and eyes in feeble attempts to see beyond the mystifying facade of statue-like people My dreams are colonized by faceless creatures occasionally sorrowful, or enraged. They walk around me in sorrow, they lost love and life, they live in me eternally I do not think I am alive, I think I am not dead There is a land of mud and golems walking past with silent screams in open mouths Forever walking past in circles

The land of Septembers, were the past and the present become one, If you were blind, I would think you carry the vision of humanity within your heart. You see and ear and understand more than many I know! :)

Your words Arthur, as always, they give me a warm feeling inside. You're such a wonderful friend... So much humanity in you...

I feel every drop of emotion in every word, if only Galmi could take you under her wings and make you fly!

This is probably one of the most openly raw emotion filled pieces of yours I have read so far Darren. You beautifully express the frustrations and challenges of the world within which you live. Really a powerful write :-) The internet gets a bad rap yet through you, I clearly see the positives, for you, and us too, to be able to learn and understand through your resilience. You are such an amazing talented young man, now I need to go read a limerick of Jan's :-) :-) blessings, lynn

Lynn, I think you have understood that well... Go read limericks and poop poems :) But always remember: whatever I write (and I almost always write from experience) I write to create a little piece of poetry as good as I can. That's my main goal. Thank you so much for your understanding and empathy. xx

I hear your pain, friend. One lady at church has been in a chair since she was 16. She recently lost her dog helper and looked so lost. Not an easy life to lead. Now many pics on fb show her enjoying the beach with her husband. Blessings.

Thank you Kim :) Sometimes it is not easy, but I have my friends and my poetry and that's something wonderful.

A compelling poem, Darren. You create quite an image of "statue-like people." The creatures in the above photo remind me a bit of the statues on Easter Island. Very clever poem!

Indeed, they do, you are right. Those statues with wide open mouths in silence... Thank you :)

This is incredible, it captures the exact feeling I am trying to convey in a fugue for class. Amazing writing.

Wow Darren, this is so deep and intriguing. Like a fantasy world that leans more towards the darkness than the light. This is an amazing piece of poetry, your creativity shines in this. "This baffling world of communication fails my ears and eyes in feeble attempts to see beyond the mystifying facade of statue-like people" Wow
