A Knowing

Sometimes the truth can be so clear
you feel it in your soul
A knowing that comes over you
and fully takes control...

The silence almost deafening
where do I go from here?
A growing desperate loneliness
that slowly now draws near...

I truly understand it all
it had to end this way
We couldn't find a path for us
I knew you wouldn't stay...

We filled a void we knew so well
a bitter emptiness
A night the passions that we shared
rewarded us with bliss...

You brought out feelings I had lost
so many years ago
For just a very little while
I watched our faces glow...

I have no bitterness inside
and wish you all the best
I hope the one you now have found
will give you love and rest...

Wow! Great Jon. You really have a grasp of poetry. Haven't seen your work for awhile. Nice to see it again. I missed the quality. Ilene Bauer has a great style as well. She writes on every subject. Great piece Jon. You really should be in a book.
