A Kite Can'T Fly

A kite can’t fly
without wind.
I’ve more than
enough
you say,
but can we ground
the spark?

A kite can’t fly
without a flexible
frame
joined as we are
will we bend
or break?

A kite can’t fly
without string
too heavy - no lift
too light it snaps
and tumbles to
the earth.

And as we watch
our children's
launch
can we ever
get it right?

Ahh...this reminds me of spending time in the park, watching eagerly while my Dad got very tetchy trying to get our old kite in the air!! Lovely poem, thank you!

Thanks Kaye. However we fly them (or not) kites are lovely but delicate creatures, which as Charlie Brown would attest, often end in trees but leave us all with memories.
