A Kite

A Kite by Weston Gregory

Gamed and played, swift to flight
a kite outbound disengaged from
gravity's might
A laughter of sort at least a smile
that by and by we can untangle
humanity's plight

By swish and swirl and crazy hoops
a kite lighten burden inspires hope on
journey not new
yet, ever changing when life's wind blew
until all's but distant sight, held by cords
and glue

Above horizon daunting for me and you
but, a cinch for a kite with faith inbrued
a chime to dance the rhythm which
nature taught true....

Wonderful metaphor Weston. Also a fun game in real. My brother used to take them for me but I loved chasing along behind him - he was an expert pilot :) Thank you for sharing these wonderful poems. Alice

Nice life lesson from a kite. And guided by a master hand the kite can soar free and high and dance beautifully.
