A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

The most fragile of insects danced past my eyes, In a kaleidoscope flutter of butterflies, Alighting so gracefully upon garden blooms, “Of “Sweet Juliets” with their tea rose perfumes, Frenzied by scents so pleasingly sweet, Tasting each flower with delicate feet, Performing ballet “fouettes” in the air, I watched them pirouette with elegant flair, And felt a bit sad as they flew on their way- Knowing a week to 9 months was their earthly stay-

I love rhyming poems so much and I Love it when poets manage to retain both rhyming pattern and message like in this poem. It was a great read thanks for sharing this piece 7/7!

Drogonflies only live for a day...is that correct?

I'm no entomologist, but I do know that dragonflies can live a long time ( a couple of years) if you consider the time they are in their nymph stage, but once in their adult stage they may live anywhere from a month for the smaller ones and four months for the larger ones.....that's an old myth about the 24 hours of living..........
