A Humble Prince

To my late FATHER, Stanslas Esau Velentino Phiri

A HUMBLE PRINCE!
Day after day we saw you labor
Under the weight of Fatherhood
With delight your responsibilities you discharged
That brought daily to us bread

Your advice made us wise...
"Work hard in school" you said
"Lest the world turns you to slaves"
....a rare mentor!

Of your descent boasted you not.....
Royalty concealed
Under the cloak of humility for nobility...
For you were a Son of a KING
Though not enthroned...
Ruler of our people

True as it was
You remain to be, that, HUMBLE PRINCE!
