Disheartened by the persistent rain, the sun has gone; only clouds remain. And tears encompass both time and space; as they fall within my hurting place. Nature can't console betrayal's pain; unconcerned that my trust was in vain. Seasons came and went, yet nothing changed; the scenery just got rearranged. Starting to recall how love once felt; I regret playing the cards fate dealt. And the stars shining so far away confetti the night with specks of day. A distraught Moon chases Mars from view, thinking, He is what's making me blue. And as the wind blows, calling her name, the breezes sigh, whispering the same. My Angel's heart had a human flaw, for love fell victim to Murphy's law. And now, another man holds her heart; while mine lies broken, falling apart.

The devastation of betrayal is deeply felt in your beautiful words Emile. The shattering effect so vividly descriptive with the last verse absolutely gut wrenching. Incredibly sad, wonderfully penned. blessings xxx

Betrayal takes its toll and the heart suffers. You express such feelings with an able pen, Emile. Somehow you got me humming Jimi Hendrix's song..."The Wind Cries Mary"! #7 Regards // paul

A beautifully descriptive picture that you've painted in your poem Emile that deserves a 7+++. Just a thought - A person touches another's life even briefly for a reason and may move on. In that time each enriches the other in some way.

Ah the age old curse of choosing the wrong one. I know it's a cliche but no one can take her from you if she was really yours in the first place. Betrayal hurts but only for as long as you allow it to. Chalk it up to bitter experience and move on just as she did. Remember they neither know nor do they care about you any longer. Do the same with their memory. A beautiful and poignant piece. Well done. God Bless and a big 7 from me. JB

I've mentioned it to you before but this poem reminds me how devastating betrayal is to someones self worth. Been there done that and this reminds me of a distant memory and all the pain. Well done!

As a person who rarely feels anger, I know first-hand that betrayal generates a strong emotional response. The way you describe it here is right on target. Also, it is very difficult to move forward after suffering from the betrayal of a loved one. A deeply emotional poem to which many people can relate, Emile. Excellent!
