A Hint of Hope

She gazes past the golden fields beyond the wheat that summer yields above the solitary oak, so still where a lazy hawk, with circles fill. He feels the drifts in windswept skies her soul goes drifting, by and by she’s carried from her lonely bed to fly away, no fear or dread. And when the moon at night alights her hopeful eyes, with tears delight she looks beyond the stars above and feels the wonder of God’s love.

Such soft and inspirational words, Laura. I especially liked: 'she’s carried from her lonely bed to fly away, no fear or dread' as well as 'a lazy hawk.' You've personified the feeling of hope with your words. Nicely done, have a blessed day, Sara

Beautifully reverent Laura. It makes me sad to think so many in the world reject the true hope that lies in Jesus

Hi Laura! Hope does have a way of showing us what is beyond "the stars," "windswept skies," and "lonely" beds. It does, indeed, "carry" us past midnights and into the wondrous realm of God's love. Your words carry that promise of comfort and blessings! Blessings to you! So happy to see you posting again!

Thank you, Sam, for stopping by to comment! It’s been a struggle to write for awhile now…so starting small with simple poems. Thank you, again! :)

Beautiful. Everyone can always use a hint of hope. Thanks for opening my eyes, sometimes I simply forget with all the humdrum of the on goings of the world, that there is still wonder out there.
