A Helping Hand

You needed a helping hand,
So I extended mine.
You needed some care
so I gave you some.

You needed a path
through endless pain.
I dried your tears
and helped you to try again.

You needed to know that
the dark wasnt endless.
I showed you some light,
And a heart that was kind.

You needed to know that
You were not alone.
I gave you some company
and a gentle tone.

You needed a friend when
the doors were all closing.
Someone to listen when
Your pain you exposed.

I held out my hand because
thats what friends do.
They stretch out to help
and understand you.

If you need me I'll be there
I'll hold out my hand
to you. And You wont be alone
in the dark anymore.

For anyone who is floundering in the darkness of depression.
