A heart that needs a hand to hold

I am not a mason though I might as well be
The walls I build are strong and secure
Behind them I live my life safe from my fears
I never tattered until I met you, then the wall seemed weaker

Like a snail coming out of its shell I tried to breathe
The air seems different now, it seems full of life
My walls kept me from breathing that life
Desperately trying to grow, like a weed through sidewalk cracks searching to feel

My heart beats for the very first time
When your near, I try to close the gap between us
Shy, like child, I hide in myself
I don't want to be this way, help me, stay with me....

Afraid to touch, afraid to feel, my heart bleeds
In the darkness there is a light that wishes to shine, to grow brighter
It wants to grow into something beautiful, but my heart is locked from years of scorn
The key is there for you, just grab it and it shall turn

I'm so scared for the lock to open, but if you turn the key I shall not run
A light begins to shimmer in my solitude, skies of bright blue in its rays
Never let the clouds obscure this feeling, a feeling I never felt before you.......

Hello Dave Bowers, I think you are shy. so your shyness shows. once you get over your shyness you will be okay. It is nice to meet you. Enjoy your evening. /Darlene/
