A Heart Never Used

A heart
Never used now
Shall die

Dying
A congealing
Dead beat

Beaten
Down to silence
Some where

Where pure
passions exist
Then flee

Fleeing
Soulless to hide
Now lone

Lonesome
Turns to fury
At heart

Heartless
Cold and hollow
Always

This is a superbly done train. The developing thoughts on the state of the heart are clearly traced, and drawn out in clear detail despite the very few words used. Very admirable in my book.

Thank you very much, Isaiah. Your encouraging comments meant a lot to me, especially since this was my first try at writing in this form. I wasn't sure if I had done it correctly, but now I do!

It sounds like you are describing a place in Canada. I love being near water and trees.

So do I, Rick. I grew up living in the country, near lakes and forests, and that will always be my home... The northern edge of Wisconsin borders with Canada, so I imagine that the two areas would be very similar.

I live in Kelowna British Columbia on Lake Okanagan. I think this is one of the most beautiful locations in the World. We have Ski mountains golf courses and numerous wineries as well as some gorgeous lakes.

I have heard of Lake Okanagan. It looks like a very serene place to live. I live in Big Falls, Wisconsin, which is just a small, rural town. It is also very serene with dense forests, clear blue lakes, and wildlife that roams right into my backyard.

We can't win if we don't try! ...I feel proud of myself for taking on this challenging form, which is something that I do not do very often. Even though the result was not what I was hoping for, I am still glad that I wrote for this contest... I appreciate the kind congrats, Paul. Thank you very much! Hugs :)

Kelly you should patten "A Heart Never Used" before some young songstress steals it from you. The whole write is imaginative, unique and a one of a kind. I love it. For me this a fav! I hope your holidays have been happy and that the new year fulfills all your important goals. Lots Of Love, Maurice.

I wouldn't want anyone to steal my poem, but it would be cool to hear someone singing the words that I wrote. Like Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Lady Gaga, Rihanna or Iggy Azalea... :) Thank you for the wonderful comments and the fav. That means so much to me, Maurice!
