A Heart Broken

Oh, while I with sorrow pine,
You my love, feign ignorance.

When you see a falling star
streaking through the night sky,
When you see flowers
wilt and wither away,
When you see leaves
fall to dust in autumn,
When monsoon clouds
cry over the barren desert…

Knowest thou not
they’re all aware of my hurting heart?
With me they all yearn,
With me they all mourn…
Each day long, each night lonely.

How doth thou be blind to my fate so dire?
Unbeknownst to my aching heart
you turned your back on me
forsaking me forever to languish alone.

I pray my dear,
Your heart one day will be broken like mine.

This is one of the most beautiful poems I have read in a past few months. I was mesmerized by the beautiful imagery. The last line is my favorite. Many congratulations on your 2nd position in my contest.
