A Half Century Celebration

My hubby turns the big 5-0 today
He’s still a handsome man, what can I say?
His presence fills each room that he walks in
A smile like his is one that’s meant to win

There’s more of him now than there was before
Yet his physique is still one to adore
His lips are full and luscious, lovely sight
They make one want to kiss all day and night

He is a man who will not bend to age
The years that pass just make him more a sage
The silver in his hair is dear to me
His wisdom is what guides our family

He is not one to delve into romance
Unless, of course, there is some circumstance
He prides himself that he can tell a joke
Because he knows his finance, we’re not broke

He is so proud of where he has been bred
From River Nile his heart and soul were fed
I wish that I could gift him lots of wealth
And keep him through the years in perfect health

Though I cannot lay claim to “perfect wife”
I may have caused him drama and some strife
True to his name, he is a great AMIR (prince)
To all who call him friend, his heart is near

Now half a century we celebrate
With goodies and with cake we fill his plate
We sing him birthday songs and clap with glee
and wish him years as sweet as they can be

Fifty feels like yesterday as dies forty and thirty two. Where does time go?

Oh, my, so sweet, love sentiments drip with adoration and respect that reflect the grandest gift - 2 hearts growing the best in each other's authenticity. I'm sure you gifted him with this poem, and equally sure he treasures it. Sweeter than sweet is love with respect complete. I'm much touched with a joy rush! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Eileen, this is a GREAT poem for us to know more about your better half!! I really enjoyed it. As for my roses and carnation poem, that was all made up. Had to think of something for the contest.

Thank you, dear. Tomorrow is a big day. I've got lots of fun things planned. I'm excited. Thanks for your visit, dear. I'm glad you got me tonight because I probably won't get around to much tomorrow. Blessings. I'll pass the greetings along. :)

Thanks, Tim. Very kind of you. He just got off the treadmill. He is taking better care of his health, and I'm trying to as well. We need that 30 to keep going for some time. Just wish my daughter were here with us.

Hey, sweetie! I only know how to post pics from the internet, and I can't find one good one of him. He's balding on the top of his head so it's only the sides where the grey and white show! lol! We are celebrating tomorrow, but I just write this one, so I thought I'd share. Hugs and thanks!
