till the mower comes...

A sweet sardonic expression of acceptance of the inevitable - terse but evocative. Nice exemplar of the haiku. Good one, Len

Thanks Jean-- and yes, I'd never cut them but my wife is not as fond of 'wild' nature!

Thanks Maureen-- ah, if I only could! But these beauties cover the whole yard, and when the grass starts getting to be 5 inches tall, the power that be, a.k.a., my wife, puts her foot down.

This too is another exceptional haiku! I can relate to it too. I have a wildflower meadow, (Council owned), a small visible distance from where I live, and every early spring just as things are are starting to show along comes the mower. I've fought a failing battle with the council for four years, it's a long story and can be found on Twitter. More to the point it's your wonderful haiku that gets a well deserved congratulation and a gold medal to boot... Well done L.J. ... Mick

Thank you, Mick-- I share a bit of your frustration-- my lawn guy is my neighbor and he hates to see grass taller than 1/2 an inch-- so every spring I try to delay him so I can enjoy the beauty of the mix of white and purple wildflowers-- but it's always a holding action.
