A Gruesome Picture of the Past

As I gaze at this azure sky,
Making this lonely, coward heart heave a heavy sigh,
A gruesome picture of the past slowly comes into view,
A gallery of memories painted in every shade of you.

The winds whisper stories I can never erase,
Of gentle hands, warm smiles, and a comforting embrace.
Though time has carried the years far away,
Your presence still finds me in the quiet of each day.

There were words left unspoken,
Dreams unfinished, moments broken,
Yet among the fragments of sorrow I see,
The countless sacrifices you made for me.

Today, the sky seems wider than before,
As if heaven itself has opened its door.
And somewhere beyond the clouds so high,
I imagine you watching with a loving eye.

If only I could borrow a moment from time,
I'd thank you for every mountain you chose to climb,
For every burden you carried without a complaint,
For teaching me strength when my courage grew faint.

Though Father's Day awakens an ache deep inside,
It also fills my heart with enduring pride.
For even in absence, your love remains,
Flowing through my joys, my losses, my gains.

So as I gaze at this azure sky today,
I send my love where the angels stay.
And though tears may fall as memories pass by,
I carry you forever beneath this endless sky.
Happy Father's Day, Dad.
Your love lives on in every beat of my heart.

What a delightfully beautiful Poem. It struck a chord in My heart. My Father has been gone from us for over Ten Years now. So it meant a lot me to be able to read your Poem. Thanks so much!
