A Great Heart

(This is for Manny, the fantastic person who helped me spend Christmas with my friends in South Lake Tahoe.) In life, many strive, many succeed, Few decide to do it right, But there are some scattered beings, That do not forfeit to fright. They're the ones that lend their hands Without asking for rewards; Let you know they're here for you Without using any words. Winds of change may wither souls, Vanity and hatred can demolish... The great heart of he who helps Does not need medals to polish. Through the good and through the tragic, On its land or far away, A great heart never feels panic Choosing the hardest games to play. For all those who choose to help, For all the friendships that are true, For the ones that really care, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
