A Goodbye Sigh

Goodbyes are always heartbreakingly sad
They're the end of the good times
you both thought would always last
But the least painful goodbye
is the goodbye sigh
It's when a relationship ends
without a reason why
None was given,
none was required
Perhaps freedom was simply
what you both desired
Maybe you're both glad it didn't work out;
when it comes to true love,
there never really should be any doubt
Oh well,
give a shoulder shrug and a good short cry ---
no words need to be said
The perfect parting gift that says it all,
is a brief hug and a goodbye sigh
