A Goddess of the Sea
To Zeus she is the goddess of magic
seaside mysteries
Beneath her golden tendrils
a flowing waterfall
She flies up to the Moon to sleep
in Orion's arms
Then tumbles back down to the sea
over skin of alabaster
Ripples of love float on moonbeams
golden glow
to skip across the dancing sea to stir
her heart of biotite
She loves to twirl across the waves
in arcs of joyful glee
And make phosphorous plumes like
iridescent candlelight
Misty nights she plays her harp of gilded
seaweed strings
Then sends aloft the liquid notes of
effervescent song
To all the stars above the oceans'
tranquil calm
That the universe may exalt
in her healing balm
For fun she shines the shore with a million
sparkling drops
While drifting between the currents
on winds' whispering call
It lifts her heart to feel the waves
blue breath of foam
As she swims with sisters in a frothy crest
of her magical sea
