A Girl's Cry
Is the world really not fair
Or maybe we just don't care! "
My heart talked to me while she lay there,
Helpless, out of breath and she has not
moved,
I put my hand on her head because her
face was bruised!
She tried to talk but she trembled
Tears filled my eyes, she was troubled,
Tormented, cheap and useless she felt
I forced a smile and kept my composure
then knelt
Said a short prayer dedicated to her heart
slayer,
While she's hurting, he still feels he's the
player,
And there was nothing I could say to
make her better.
She smiled and gave me a letter,
I tried to open it she held my hand with
her weak hand
And silently said, "Not now my friend"
I said "why not" but she did not respond,
I felt her pulse it was paused,
She was only sixteen years old
So much future awaited but she lay there,
cold!
I opened the letter and it read,
"As women who have nothing to defend,
We are silently hurt by those whom upon
we depend,
I was young but raped and beaten,
I might die with my heart broken,
Because I was treated like a token"
